Headless Mule - Mythical Creatures Contest

Hey Deviants, this is my first entry to an online design contest, hope you enjoy it, and if you like it, please consider voting.

The Headless Mule
The headless mule is a character of the Brazilian folklore. In most tales, it is a form of apparition of a woman who was cursed by God for her sins, it is often said to be a concubine who had sex in a church with a Catholic priest and was sentenced to turn into a creature described as having the shape of a horse without a head spewing fire, galloping across the field the evening of Thursday until dawn on Friday. The myth has several variations on the sin that has cursed the woman to become the monster: scavenging, infanticide, a sacrilege against the church, fornication, incest, etc..


My idea of bringing a creature from the Brazilian folklore was because we already see a lot of the common mythical creatures like Dragons, Pegasus, and etc., and I wanted to show something different.

It was made from a sketch with 2B pencil and paper, scanned then painted on Photoshop. I tried to vetorize, but had no time.
